David Paton, an eleven-year veteran of the global tobacco company, will advise Philter Labs on strategy and product positioning
San Diego, CA – September 22, 2022 – Philter Labs, Inc., a technology company pioneering new, micro-filtration technology to tackle the multi decade-long issue of secondhand smoke, has brought David Paton onto their Scientific and Strategic Advisory Board. David, who is based in the UK, worked in various senior roles at British American Tobacco for more than a decade, most recently as Head of Open Innovation. Under his guidance, the tobacco company made a dominating push into identifying novel technologies and products that would progress their product pipeline.

David will advise Philter Labs alongside industry-renowned toxicologist and former VP of Global Affairs for JUUL, Dr. Willie McKinney, as well as the former Principal Scientist for Philip Morris, Dr. Michael Werley. Both Willie and Michael have been part of the Philter Labs strategic advisory board since its inception and have helped guide the company through peer validation of their patented technology, including co-presenting an abstract with Chief Technology Officer, John Grimm, at the World Tobacco Safety event in 2021.
